Egiye Chalo Farmers Producer Company Limited. We are based out of Plot 1276/1 in Narsingpur village. This is Alipurduar, specifically the Falakata area, which most people know for the greenery. The name "Egiye Chalo" means to keep moving forward, and that is what we try to do every day with the farming. Keshabchandra Roy lets us use this spot for the company work. It is mostly just a bunch of us who grew up around here. We work with whatever the ground gives us, depending on the month. Some months it is all about the paddy, and other times we are looking at vegetables. It is not an easy life, and we don’t pretend it is. The roads around here can get pretty bad during the rains, which makes getting the produce out a real chore. We spend a lot of time just talking to each other about the price of fertilizer or how the rain is looking. It’s a group effort, and nobody is the big boss telling everyone what to do. We just try to help each other out so we don't get squeezed by the middlemen too much. The office is plain, just some chairs and a table with a lot of papers on it. We aren't professionals at writing fancy descriptions, we just know how to work the land and take care of the business side as best as we can without making things complicated.
