Madarihat Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our office is situated in Islamabad, which is a small neighborhood near Sutradhar Para. We are specifically located at Anjana Sutradhar’s place in Paschim Khair Bari, Alipurduar. The pin code is 735213. It is a lovely area with a lot of natural beauty all around us. The building we are in is just a regular house that we use for our farmer producer company business. Inside, we have some wooden chairs and a big table where we lay out all the paperwork and maps of the local farms. It’s not a high-tech environment. We rely a lot on face-to-face conversations with the farmers who live nearby. During the rainy season, the sound of the rain on the roof is so loud you have to shout a bit to be heard. We don't mind it much, it’s just how things are here in the Alipurduar district. There is a lot of tea grown in this region, so that’s usually what we are drinking during our meetings. We don't have any fancy signs or a reception desk. If you come by, you just walk in and say hello. Most days are spent trying to keep track of the harvest and the various supplies the members need. It’s a busy life but it feels right being so close to the land and the people who work it. We just do our best every day.
