Presidency School

Down here in Ajmer, things move at their own pace. Presidency School is located right where you’d expect, tucked into the 305001 area. Most people find us easily enough. The school day starts with the sound of the bell, which is quite loud and can be heard down the street. We’ve got a mix of young and old teachers. Some have been here so long they remember teaching the parents of the current students. The classrooms aren't anything special to look at, just desks and chairs and the smell of chalk. We don't use much technology unless we really have to. It’s mostly just reading from books and writing in notebooks. The kids stay busy. When it rains, the courtyard gets a bit muddy, but we just put some planks down. We don’t have a big fancy website or a PR person. If someone wants to know about us, they usually just walk in and ask at the desk. We talk about the weather, the local news, and then get down to the schoolwork. It’s a practical place. We focus on the basics like math and grammar. In the afternoons, when the sun starts to set over Ajmer, the building gets quiet again. We lock up the gates and go home, then come back and do it all over again the next morning. It’s just a steady, simple life here at the school for everyone involved in the daily routine.
