Out here at Plot No. 4719 in Phase-4 of the GIDC, things are pretty quiet compared to the older parts of the estate. Sharp Engineers is tucked away in this corner, and if you aren’t looking for the number, you might drive right past us. We spend most of our time at the workbenches, dealing with whatever parts come in that day. It isn't a glamorous job, but it keeps the lights on. The workshop has that specific smell of grease and cold steel that stays on your clothes long after you leave. We’ve got a couple of old fans that do their best to move the air around, but they mostly just make a lot of noise. People around here usually know us as the place that just gets on with it. We don't have a big sales team or a website that looks like a movie. It’s just us and the machines. Sometimes the tea guy comes by around ten, and that’s when we take a break. The GIDC is a big place, and Phase-4 feels a bit more spread out. We like the space though. There is plenty of room to unload trucks without blocking the whole road. If you’re coming to see us, just follow the main road through the phase until you see the number 4719 painted on the gate. We’re usually around and working on something or other.
