Papa Ro Ice Qube

Running an ice business is a bit different than what most people expect. We are located at Plot No. 3738 in Phase-4 of the GIDC. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but the space works for what we need. Papa Ro Ice Qube started because there was a need for it in this area. Making ice involves a lot of water and keeping the freezers running perfectly all the time. If the power goes out, we have a real problem on our hands, which happens sometimes around here. The floor is usually wet and it stays pretty cold inside the unit, even when it’s boiling hot outside in the sun. We handle the bags and the cubes, loading them up for whoever needs them. It’s a lot of lifting and moving heavy stuff. We don't have a marketing team or anyone like that. Usually, it's just us making sure the machines are clean and the ice is clear. Some people ask about the name, but it’s just something we went with. Being in Phase-4 means we have a lot of industrial neighbors. It’s a noisy place with a lot of heavy vehicles passing by. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too high. It is simple work, really. We make the ice, we bag it, and people come by to pick it up or we send it out. That is about it for our daily life at the plot.
