You can find Dudhut Industries Pvt.Ltd. at Plot No.218 on the Rudra Industrial Dhamatvan Road-Bakrol. It’s a bit out of the way, so it’s usually quieter here than in the center of the city. The road leading up to the plot is mostly dirt and gravel, which means our shoes and vehicles are always covered in a bit of dust. We have a large plot with a big shed where most of the work happens. It’s a sturdy building, but it’s definitely seen better days. The roof rattles a bit when there’s a strong wind, and the lighting inside is just enough to see what you’re doing. We have a small corner partitioned off with some plywood where we handle the billing and the phone calls. There’s a heavy smell of grease and metal in the air, which is just part of the job. Most of the staff comes from the nearby villages or travels in on bikes. We don't have a fancy lunchroom, so we usually just sit on some crates or outside under the shade of the building when it’s time to eat. It’s a simple setup, but it’s ours. We spend the day moving things around and making sure the orders are ready for the trucks that come by in the evening. It’s hard work, but we’re used to the routine of the industrial life out here in Bakrol.
