We've been running things here at Ultratech Cement Ltd in Ahmedabad for a while now. Our spot is right behind the Government Polytechnic in Ambavadi, at the Abhisaar Apartments. It’s a busy area, but we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. People often drop by asking about cement for their homes or small projects. We mostly spend our time dealing with orders and making sure the bags get where they need to go. It isn’t glamorous work, just making sure the trucks are loaded and the paperwork is sorted. Sometimes the traffic near the polytechnic makes things a bit slow in the afternoons, but that’s just how it is living here. We’ve got a small team in the office handling the phones and the walk-ins. It’s mostly about getting the basics right every day. We don’t do anything fancy, just supply the materials people need for building. The office in C-3 is where we keep all the records and manage the local distribution. It’s a practical setup, nothing too big or flashy. We know the local roads well and try to keep things moving as smoothly as possible despite the heat or the rain. Working with cement means your clothes usually have a bit of dust on them by the end of the shift. That’s just part of the job. We’re here most days, just keeping the business going and making sure the supplies are ready when someone needs them. It's a bit noisy with the students nearby, but it's home.
