Our office is over at Motilal Centre, specifically at number 11 on Dinesh Hall Road. It’s easy to find because we are right across from Punjab Travels, near the Income Tax office. This is where we handle the distribution of cement. It’s mostly a lot of phone calls and ledger books. We don’t actually manufacture anything here; we just make sure the bags of cement get from the suppliers to the construction sites where they are needed. The office is a bit small and usually smells a little like old paper and ink. We spend a lot of time coordinating with drivers and making sure the deliveries are on schedule. It can get stressful when a truck breaks down or the rain starts, as moisture is the enemy of cement. We have some old fans that hum all day to keep the air moving. It’s not a glamorous job, just a lot of logistics and checking numbers twice to avoid mistakes. We’ve been in this building for quite a while now. The furniture is a bit worn, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for us. We just focus on the movement of goods and making sure our records match up at the end of the month. It’s a steady rhythm of orders coming in and trucks going out. We just do our part in the local building chain. The traffic outside can be a bit of a headache.
