Our spot is over in Phase 2 of the GIDC. We are spread across a few plots, specifically 92, 93, and 94/2/1. It is a loud area with all the other factories around, but we have gotten used to the noise over the years. Working in an industrial estate like this means there is always something going on. You see a lot of the same faces every morning when the shifts change. We handle a lot of heavy material here, so things get a bit messy from time to time. It is mostly just hard work and making sure the machinery is running like it should. We do not have a big reception area or anything. Usually, you just walk in and find someone in the main shed if you need something. The roads in the GIDC can be a bit rough with all the heavy trucks, but we manage. Most of the guys have been here a long time and they know the equipment inside out. It isn't a glamorous job, but it is steady. We spend most of our time keeping track of what is coming in and what is going out on the trailers. Every now and then we have to stop for maintenance, which gives us a bit of a breather. If you are driving through Phase 2, you can’t really miss the site since it takes up a fair bit of space. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
