Ultratech Cement Limited

Our branch is situated over in the Bhagyoday Society, right on Sukhramnagar Road. Most people know the area because of the big water tank nearby in Gomtipur. It’s a practical location for what we do because it’s easy to give directions to the truck drivers who are bringing in the loads. We deal with cement bags all day long, so there is usually a bit of grey dust on the floor no matter how many times we try to sweep it out. This isn’t a fancy office with leather chairs. It’s more of a place where we keep the records and talk to contractors who need supplies for their building sites around the city. The fan in the ceiling makes a bit of a clicking noise but we’ve gotten used to it after all these months. Working here means you get to know the local builders and the people living in the society quite well. We have a small desk where we handle the paperwork for the deliveries. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the front of the building, but we just keep the door open to get a bit of a breeze. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a big display. We just make sure the cement gets to where it needs to go so people can finish their houses.
