You can find us over at 3/31 Akashdeep Apartment, which is near Akhbar Nagar in the Nava Wadaj area of Ahmedabad. It is a bit of an unusual spot for a cement business because it is part of an apartment complex, but we make it work. We have a ground-floor space where we keep the office and some of the smaller stock. The main thing is managing the noise so we do not bother the families living above us too much. It is a busy neighborhood with a lot of people moving around constantly. I spend my day sitting at a metal desk that has seen better days, tracking the trucks as they move through the city traffic. The area around Akhbar Nagar is always congested, so getting our supplies delivered on time is usually the biggest challenge of the day. We have a small crew and we all do a bit of everything, from answering the phone to helping with the bags when someone is short-handed. It is not the kind of place where you wear a suit or have meetings in a boardroom. We just talk over the sound of the traffic and drink a lot of tea. We have been in this part of Ahmedabad for a while now and have a steady flow of local people who come by for what they need. It is not always easy to maneuver the vehicles in this tight space.
