Udupi Jaya Restaurant

We are located in Prabha Palace at Vasant Chowk. It’s right near the Maharashtra Bank in the Bhadra area, close to Lal Darwaja. This part of the city is always moving, especially with the big markets nearby. Udupi Jaya Restaurant has been here for a while, just serving basic meals to whoever walks through the door. The building is an older one, and we are just one of the many small shops around the chowk. We don't have a big team of waiters or anything like that. It’s just a few of us making sure the food is ready and the tables are wiped down properly. Sometimes it gets really crowded during the lunch hours, and people have to wait a bit for a seat. We don't have air conditioning or fancy chairs, just a regular place to eat your lunch. You can hear all the noise from the street while you sit inside. It’s just honest work for us. We start early in the morning to get the kitchen going before the crowds arrive. The smells of the spices and the steam from the pots fill up the small space pretty quickly. Most of our customers are people working in the nearby offices or shoppers from Lal Darwaja looking for a break. We don't try to be something we’re not. It’s just a simple restaurant where you can get a hot meal. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for years and we just keep going.
