Swaminarayan Gurukul Vishvavidya Pratisthan

The campus sits right out on the Sarkhej Gandhinagar Highway, right across from the Nirma Institute in Chharodi. It’s a big piece of land, and you can’t really miss it when you’re driving toward Gandhinagar. The highway is always humming with cars and those big interstate trucks, but once you step inside our gates, the scale of the place hits you. It’s a lot of walking to get from one side to the other. We have these large buildings that house everything from the living quarters to the study halls. It’s a busy life here, and there’s always someone sweeping the paths or tending to the plants. The dust from the road is a constant battle, but we keep at it. During the day, the sun beats down on the open areas, so everyone tends to stick to the corridors. It’s a community, really. We have people living and working here twenty-four hours a day. It isn't like a city office that shuts down at five. There’s always a light on somewhere. The kitchen stays busy feeding everyone, and you can smell the food cooking from quite a distance. It’s a practical environment. We don’t have much use for fancy decorations when there’s so much work to be done. It’s just a place where learning and living happen side by side, right there on the edge of the busy highway. It has been that way for as long as we can remember.
