Suryoday Textile

We are tucked away behind VS Hospital at the Mahakant building. Our office is number 211. Ashram Road is always a hub of activity, but being slightly behind the main road makes it a little quieter. You can hear the ambulances every now and then since the hospital is so close. Suryoday Textile is a small operation. It’s mostly just me and a couple of assistants. The office is full of textile binders and sample swatches. We have a small window that looks out onto the back alley. It’s not the best view, but it lets in some sunlight. Most of our day is spent on the phone or going through inventory. We aren't the type of people to wear suits or have big meetings. Usually, we are in jeans and just trying to keep up with the orders. The Mahakant building is easy to find if you know the hospital. We’ve been here for a few years now. The hallway outside 211 is usually pretty quiet. We have a small kettle in the corner for making tea, which we do a lot. Sometimes the deliveries get mixed up because people miss the turn behind the hospital, but we’re used to it. We don't have a big mission statement. We just wanted to sell textiles in a place that made sense. It’s a straightforward business and we like it that way. No frills, just textiles. We stay until the work is done.
