We are situated at Shop No. 16 and 30 on the second floor of Agarwal Mall. It’s right opposite the Sola Bhagwat Vidhyapith in Chanakyapuri. Being inside a mall means we have a bit of a different setup than a standalone shop. We deal with ceramics, so there are tiles everywhere you look. The space is organized with rows of displays that we have to keep tidy. Since we’re on the second floor, we rely on the elevators and stairs quite a bit for getting things up and down. Chanakyapuri is a busy area, especially with the Vidhyapith across the street. We see a lot of students and families walking by. Our workday is mostly spent helping people pick out designs for their floors or walls. It’s a lot of talking and showing different textures. We don't use any scripted sales pitches; we just tell people what’s in stock and how much it costs. The mall can get a bit loud on the weekends, but during the week it’s a fairly quiet place to work. We spend our downtime checking our lists and making sure the deliveries are on track. It’s a practical way to run a ceramic business. We don't pretend to be anything we aren't. We’re just here in the mall, day in and day out, selling tiles to whoever needs them. It takes a lot of effort to keep the inventory organized.
