Shrestha Restaurant

We’ve been here in Navrangpura for quite a while now. Most people find us tucked away in Smit Complex, right near the Choice Snacks bar lane. If you are coming from the Hotel Crown side, you will see our sign. It is just Shop-1. Things get pretty busy around here during lunch time because of all the offices nearby. We just try to get the food out hot and make sure the tables are wiped down properly. Sometimes the lane gets a bit crowded with scooters and bikes, but that is just how this part of Ahmedabad is. We started this place because we liked cooking and wanted a small spot for people to sit and eat. It isn’t fancy or anything. Just some tables, chairs, and the kitchen in the back. My nephew helps out sometimes with the orders when he isn't at school. We don't have a big fancy menu, just the regular things we know how to make well. Some days the weather is too hot, so we keep the fans running full blast. We see the same faces every day, which is nice. It feels like a little community in this corner of Navrangpura. If you're walking past the lane, you'll probably smell what we're cooking. We just keep things simple. Nothing complicated about it. We open up early to get everything ready. Cleaning, chopping vegetables, and getting the stove going takes time.
