Shreenath Marble & Stone (Gota Gam)

We've been here near the Gota railway crossing for a while now. Most people find us because they’re stuck waiting for the train and look over at our yard. It's a busy spot, right across from Vikram Plaza. Shreenath Marble & Stone is really just a place where we keep our stock and try to help people figure out what they need for their floors or counters. The yard gets pretty dusty, especially in the summer heat, but that’s just part of working with stone. We spend most of our mornings moving slabs around with the crane. It takes a lot of work to keep things organized. Some days are quieter than others. When it rains, the ground gets a bit muddy, but we still open up. We aren't a big fancy showroom with air conditioning and coffee. It's more of a practical place. We have different kinds of marble and some stone pieces sitting out. If you walk in, you’ll probably see me or one of the guys covered in a bit of white dust. We just show you what we have available right then. There’s no pressure or long speeches here. We know the Gota Gam area well since we’ve been here so long. Most of our neighbors are other local shops. We just try to keep the inventory moving and make sure the measurements are right before anything leaves on a truck. It’s hard work, lifting and checking every piece, but it keeps us busy enough.
