Shree Shyam Marble & Granite

We’ve been here on the Sarkhej Gandhi Nagar Highway for a good while now. If you know the area near the Bhagwat Petrol Pump, you’ve probably driven past our yard. It’s right near Saayona. The highway is always busy, so there’s a lot of noise and dust, but that’s just how it is. Most of our mornings are spent moving slabs around with the crane so people can actually see what’s underneath. It’s heavy work and my shirt is usually covered in stone dust by noon. Shree Shyam Marble & Granite is just a place where we keep a lot of stock out in the open. Sometimes the sun hits the granite just right and you can see the patterns clearly, but mostly we just splash a bit of water on them if someone wants to see the real color. It’s not fancy here. There’s a small office where we sit and handle the paperwork, but most of the time we are outside. People come in looking for stuff for their floors or kitchens, and we just show them what we have on the lot. We’ve seen the highway change a lot over the years, more buildings going up every day. It’s a lot of lifting and loading trucks, making sure things don't crack. We stay busy enough with the locals and the contractors coming through to check the slabs.
