Shree Ram Stone & Articles is situated right opposite the Umiya Weight Bridge at Gota Char Rasta. Being near a weight bridge means there are always big lorries stopping nearby, so it is a very active place. We do not just sell plain stone; we have various articles made from stone too. You might see some carved pieces or benches sitting outside our entrance. It is a bit of a dusty spot because of all the traffic at the crossroad. We spend our mornings cleaning off the dust from the stone displays so people can see the real color and texture. It is a small business run by just a few of us. We do everything from answering the phone to helping load the stones onto the back of a customer's vehicle. It is not a corporate setup at all. We have a small cabin where we sit when it gets too hot outside. Most of our customers are locals from the Gota area who are looking for something to put in their gardens or around their houses. We like the variety of the work. One day we are moving heavy blocks and the next we are showing someone a small stone carving. It is a simple life and we enjoy being part of the local community here at the crossroads. We just keep things practical and focus on the work at hand every day. It is what we know how to do.
