Shree Meladi Stone Suppliers/B R Marbles

If you’re driving near Gota Char Rasta on NH No.8, you’ve probably seen our yard. We go by Shree Meladi Stone Suppliers or sometimes B R Marbles, but it’s the same group of us here at number 490. Being right by the highway means it’s always noisy and there’s a lot of dust from the trucks passing Gota Gam. We spend most of our time out in the yard checking on the marble blocks. It’s heavy work, and we’ve had our share of sore muscles over the years. We have all sorts of stone piled up, some from nearby and some from further away. We don’t have a big sales team or anything like that. Usually, it’s just one of us sitting at the old wooden desk in the shack we use as an office. We keep a ledger of what comes in and what goes out. The sun can be pretty brutal out there on the concrete, so we drink a lot of tea and stay in the shade when we can. The intersection at Gota Char Rasta is always a mess of traffic, but it brings people by. We’ve been in Gota Gam for a long time, so most the local builders just stop in without calling first. It’s a plain, honest business. We just move stone from one place to another and try to keep the yard somewhat organized.
