Shree Mahalakshmi Tiles Industries is located right near the Shree Khodiyar Mata’s Temple in Gota Gam. It is a local spot that is quite easy to find because everyone knows the temple. We deal with all kinds of tiles for floors and walls. The shop is filled with stacks of ceramic and porcelain. It can be a bit of a maze inside with all the boxes piled up. Gota Gam is a place that is developing fast, and we see new faces every day. People come in looking for something simple for their bathroom or maybe a nice pattern for their kitchen. We spend a lot of time showing them the different colors. Sometimes they bring their whole family to decide, and the shop gets very crowded. We do not have any fancy lighting to make the tiles look better than they are. They are just good, solid tiles. My uncle started this business, and now we all help out. We do the heavy lifting ourselves most of the time. The floor of the shop is always covered in a bit of grit from the tile edges. It is a busy life, especially when a big shipment arrives and we have to move everything by hand into the storage area. We just sit on our stools, drink some tea, and wait for the next person to walk in from the temple road. It is just a normal shop for regular people. We are happy to be here in this district of the city.
