Shivam Marble

We are set up right on the Sarkhej Gandhinagar Highway. If you know where Bhavik Publication is, we are just a short walk from there. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there is always traffic passing by. We deal in marbles of different types. Most of the stuff we have comes in big slabs that we store upright. It takes a lot of space, but that’s how marble works. People come in looking for something for their stairs or maybe a temple area in their home. We don't do much advertising. Most people just see the signs while they are driving toward Gandhinagar and pull in. The sun hits the white stones in the afternoon and it gets quite bright out there. We spend a lot of time washing the dust off the slabs so people can see the patterns. It is hard work moving these things around without cracking them. We have a couple of guys who help with the heavy stuff. It's been our daily routine for a long time. The highway has changed a lot, with new buildings coming up everywhere, but we are still here in the same spot near the publication house. Just a simple marble yard. We keep a notebook to track the inventory and who is coming to pick up what. Sometimes the trucks from the quarries are delayed, but we usually have enough in stock to show people. It is a loud environment with the highway noise, but we just focus on the stone.
