Shivam Corporation

Gidc Odhav is the kind of place where you really feel the heat in the summer, especially inside a warehouse like ours at 126/127. Shivam Corporation has been operating out of this patch for quite a while now. We spend most of our time moving boxes and checking inventory lists that seem to grow longer every week. The floor is concrete and it’s seen better days, with cracks here and there from where the heavy stuff gets shifted around. We don’t have a lot of fancy office furniture; mostly just sturdy desks and shelves that can hold the weight of all the records we have to keep. Being in an industrial estate like Odhav means our neighbors are all doing similar things, so there’s a lot of forklift noise and shouting from one unit to the next. It’s a community of sorts, even if it’s a bit rough around the edges. We show up early before the sun gets too high, try to get the heavy lifting done, and then spend the afternoons dealing with the paperwork side of things. It’s not a complicated life, but it keeps us on our toes. Sometimes the water cooler runs out and we have to wait for the delivery guy, which is usually the most exciting part of a Tuesday. We just focus on the task at hand and try to make sure everything leaves the gate looking right before the sun sets over the industrial estate.
