Sewa Trade Facilitation Centre

Sewa Trade Facilitation Centre is based at C-01 in the Shreeji Estate, which is part of the Raipur Mills Compound in Saraspur. It’s an industrial sort of area, so there are always trucks moving and the sound of machinery nearby. Our building is pretty plain. We use the space to help coordinate trade activities for the local workers. It’s a lot of organization and paperwork. We have big tables where we sort through documents and sometimes samples of what’s being produced in the mills. It’s not a quiet office, but we’re used to the noise of Saraspur by now. We’ve been here for a good while. The rooms are filled with folders and ledgers. We don't use much fancy technology, just the basics to get things logged. Most of the people working here have been around for years. We know the local producers and the people who come to collect the goods. It’s a lot of face-to-face interaction. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep our energy up. The compound can be a bit of a maze if you aren't familiar with it, but we’re easy to find once you get into the estate. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything. We just provide a space for people to get their trade business sorted out. It’s practical work that helps the local economy move along. We just stay focused on the daily tasks.
