Relief Restaurant

If you’ve ever been stuck waiting for a bus at the New S T stand in Ahmedabad, you’ve likely seen our place right across the street. We’re situated at Geeta Mandir Chowk, which is a busy spot to say the least. There is always a lot of dust and noise from the buses, but we’ve been here at the Geeta Mandir Stand long enough that we don’t really notice it anymore. The restaurant stays busy because of the location. People are always in a rush to catch their next ride, so we try to get the food out fast without making a big deal of it. It’s a simple setup we’ve got going. We aren't trying to be the most stylish place in town, just a spot where you can sit down for a bit. The floors get dirty quick with everyone coming in from the station, so we’re constantly sweeping. It’s mostly just the same few of us working here every day, making sure the tea is hot and the plates are clean. We see a lot of faces, most of whom we’ll never see again once their bus leaves. That’s just the nature of being near the stand in 380022. We open up early and stay open until things quiet down at night. It’s tiring work, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills. Nothing much else to say about us, we just keep the doors open.
