Ramvijay Restaurant

Ramvijay Restaurant has been sitting here in Kalupur for a long time, right across from the old railway station. If you know Ahmedabad, you know how hectic this area gets. Between the travelers coming off the trains and the people staying at the Revabai Dharmshala next door, there is never a quiet moment. We see people from all over the country walking past our doors with their heavy bags. Our place is simple, just some tables and chairs where people can sit for a few minutes and get a meal before their next journey. The noise from the station is constant, but you get used to it after a few days. We start our work very early in the morning because the trains don't stop for anyone. The kitchen is always hot, and there is always a stack of plates waiting to be cleaned. We aren't trying to be a five-star place; we just want to serve people who are tired and hungry from traveling. My father started this place, and now I’m the one looking after it mostly. We have a few old fans that creak a bit, and the floor shows the wear and tear of thousands of footsteps over the years. It’s a busy life here in 380002, but it’s the life we know. We just keep the tea boiling and the food coming out as fast as we can manage for the people passing through.
