Pratik Textile

Pratik Textile is located up on the first floor, shop number 62. We are in the New Cloth Market, right outside the Raipur Gate. If you know that area, you know how hectic it gets with all the rickshaws and people carrying huge bundles of cloth on their shoulders. Getting up to the first floor with a heavy load is a workout every single day. Our shop is basically filled from floor to ceiling with rolls of fabric. There’s barely enough room to walk sometimes. We have been here for a good bit now and we’ve seen the market change quite a bit over the years. Some shops come and go but we just keep doing what we do. It’s a lot of dusty work, moving those heavy rolls around and measuring out meters for whoever walks in. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People just find us because they know we are here at the Raipur Gate side. Lunch is usually eaten quickly on a small stool in the corner while we wait for the next customer. It isn't a glamorous life, but it pays the bills and we know a lot about different types of cotton and blends. The noise from the street never really stops, but after a while, you just stop hearing it. It is just how the market is. We just keep our heads down and focus on the orders.
