Prabhat Suitings

Our shop sits at 253 New Cloth Market, which is just outside the Raipur Gate area. It’s a busy part of town, and the street outside is usually filled with the sound of rickshaws and people hauling big bundles of fabric. We have been here for a good while now, and the routine hasn't changed much over the years. Every morning, we pull up the metal shutters and sweep out the dust that blows in from the main road. Inside, it is mostly just rows of suitings stacked up on old wooden shelves that have seen better days. We don't have fancy lights or a polished showroom feel. It’s just a practical space where we spend our time helping folks look through different cloth materials. Sometimes the shop gets a bit cramped when a few customers come in at once, and we all have to shuffle around the stools. We usually have the fans going at full speed to keep the heat away, and you can always hear the muffled noise of the market outside. Around mid-morning, the tea guy comes by with his kettle, and that’s a small break we always look forward to. We know the other shopkeepers around the gate, and it feels like a small community in the middle of all the chaos. It’s just a simple business where we show up, handle the fabrics, and go home when the sun sets.
