Peria Karamalai Tea Produce Co. Ltd.

Our office is in the Cowcoody Chambers on Race Course Road. It is a nice enough spot, 234-A, tucked away from the heaviest parts of the city noise. Being in the tea business, you would think we spend all day in the gardens, but a lot of the work actually happens right here at these desks. We deal with the logistics of the Peria Karamalai estates. There is always a lot of talk about the weather and how the rains are affecting the pluckers. We drink a lot of tea here, obviously. Usually, someone brings in a fresh batch to try out and we all sit around for a minute to see how it tastes. The furniture in the office is quite old, mostly heavy wood that has been here since before I started. We have rows of filing cabinets that are packed with records going back years. It’s quiet work for the most part. Race Course Road is good for a walk if we need to clear our heads after staring at spreadsheets for too long. We don't have any flashy signs out front. People who need to find us usually know where the Cowcoody Chambers are anyway. It’s a steady kind of life, keeping track of the production and making sure the shipments are moving. We just show up, do the work, and hope the next harvest is a good one. It is a simple way to spend the day.
