Cafe Coffee Day

We are located at C/9, Neha Flat, right across from Sonal Cinema. It’s a busy spot on Vejalpur Road in Ahmedabad. If you walk past Bag-A-Nishat Society, you’ll see our door. It’s a place where we make coffee all day long. The smell of ground beans is always in the air. We spend a lot of time cleaning tables and steaming milk. It gets really busy in the evenings when the movies let out or when students come in to sit with their laptops. We have some small tables and chairs that we have to move around a lot to fit everyone. It isn't a quiet library; there is usually music playing and people talking loudly over their cups. The espresso machine makes a lot of noise, but we are used to it by now. We keep the fridge stocked with milk and snacks. Sometimes we run out of something and have to wait for the delivery truck to fight through the Vejalpur traffic. It’s a lot of standing on our feet. We see friends meeting up and people having quick work meetings. We just keep the coffee flowing and try to keep the place tidy. The windows get a bit smudged from people looking out at the street. It’s just a regular neighborhood coffee shop where we work shifts and try to get the orders right. It’s a good place to watch the world go by from behind the counter while the fans spin overhead.
