Pakvan Dining Hall

Our dining hall is on the first floor of the Tulip Complex in the Ellis Bridge area. We are right across the road from V S Hospital, so we get a lot of people who are visiting patients or working at the hospital. It’s a big room with long tables, which is why we call it a dining hall. People often sit together and eat. We serve simple meals that change a little bit every day depending on what's fresh at the market. Ahmedabad is a busy city, and this part of it near the bridge is always moving with traffic. We have a lot of regular customers who come in every single day for their lunch. It feels a bit like a big family meal sometimes when the place is full and everyone is eating. We aren't big on decorations or anything like that. The walls are mostly plain and we focus more on keeping the place clean and the food ready on time. Our kitchen staff starts work early because cooking for a dining hall takes a lot of heavy preparation. We go through a lot of flour and vegetables every week. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy with the clatter of plates and people talking, but that's just the way it is here. We aren't a fancy restaurant for special occasions, just a place for a solid meal. We’ve been here at this location for years now and it suits us fine.
