New Nakshi Furniture

New Nakshi Furniture is located right opposite Ravikunj Society, near the Naranpura Bus Stand. If you’re waiting for a bus or just passing through the area, you’ve probably seen our workshop. We’ve got wood shavings on the floor most days and the sound of saws going is pretty constant. We aren't a big showroom with bright lights and salesmen in ties. It’s just a bunch of us who know how to work with wood. We make chairs, tables, and cabinets mostly. Some of the designs are ones we’ve been doing for years, while others are just things people ask us to build from a sketch they brought in. The air always smells like sawdust and polish. We don't have a fancy catalog; people usually just come in and look at what we are currently building. It’s hard work, and it’s often quite dusty and loud. We make things that people can use in their homes. Sometimes a piece takes longer than we thought because the wood wasn't sitting right or we had to restart a joint. We just tell the customer it’ll be another few days. People around Naranpura know us, and we like it that way. We aren't looking to become a huge chain. We just like making furniture that people can actually use every day. It’s just us and our tools in the shop, getting through the orders as they come.
