Ashwin Engineers

Started in Naroda GIDC a long time ago. We are at Plot No 1216/29 in Phase-4. Most days it’s just the sound of the machines and someone complaining about the heat. Being near Dishman Pharmaceuticals means everyone knows where we are, which helps since the signs in the industrial area are a bit faded. It’s mostly metalwork and making sure the parts are right. My father used to walk these same floors. We have a small corner where we keep the old ledgers. It gets noisy when the shift changes, but that’s just how it is here. Sometimes the tea stall guy forgets our order, but he’s been coming here for ten years so we don't mind. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. Just some desks and the workshop in the back. The fans are old but they still move the air around. We mostly deal with local guys who need stuff fixed or made from scratch. It’s not a big corporate setup, just a few of us trying to get the job done before the sun goes down. Most people around here call us when they're stuck with a mechanical problem. We just try to keep things moving. The floor is usually covered in some kind of grease or metal shavings by noon. We clean it up, but it always comes back. That's engineering for you. It's not a clean job, but it's what we do. We've been here for years.
