Mississippi The Music Cafe

We're down in Navrangpura, right on the ground floor of Hotel Dev Corporate. If you’re walking past Bavarchi Restaurant, you’ll see us just across the way. It’s Shop Number 3. We decided to open a music cafe here in Ahmedabad because we like tunes and we like good coffee. It isn’t one of those fancy places where you feel like you have to whisper. We keep things pretty casual. Being near Hotel Klassic Gold and St Xavier Corner means we get a mix of people. Sometimes it’s students with their backpacks and other times it’s folks staying at the hotels nearby. The music we play is usually just what we’re feeling that day. There isn’t a corporate playlist or anything like that. We put some posters on the walls and got some chairs that are mostly comfortable. It’s a bit of a small space, but we make it work. The street outside can get quite noisy with all the traffic in Navrangpura, but once you step inside, it’s a bit different. We aren't trying to change the world. We just wanted a spot where the speakers are decent and the atmosphere isn't stiff. We’ve been here for a while now and have some regulars who come in just to sit and read. We don’t do big ads. We just open the doors and see who comes in. It’s just us running the place day to day.
