Mayflower Restaurant

You can find us over at the Westend Hotel on Gujarat College Road. It is a busy corner of Ahmedabad, especially with the college right there and all the traffic heading toward Ellis Bridge. Our restaurant has been a part of this neighborhood for a long time. We are right next to where the Inder Residency is, so it is easy to spot us from the street. The dining room isn't overly decorated or anything like that. We have sturdy tables and chairs and enough space for families to sit together without bumping elbows. In the kitchen, the pots are always rattling. We go through a lot of vegetables every single day because people around here expect fresh stuff. The morning shift starts early to get everything prepped before the lunch crowd hits. It gets loud when the room is full, but that is just how a good restaurant feels. We don't have a lot of corporate rules about how to talk to people. We just say hello and bring the food out as fast as the stove allows. Sometimes a lightbulb might flicker or a waiter might trip over his words, but we are just regular people working hard. It is a decent place to eat if you are around Ellis Bridge and don't want anything too complicated. We just focus on the cooking and making sure the floors stay clean throughout the day.
