Marudhar Marbles & Granite

If you find yourself on Bannerghatta Road, right behind the Mico area, you’ll run into Marudhar Marbles & Granite. We are at No. 1/1, and you can’t really miss the big slabs of stone sitting around. Working with marble and granite is heavy, physical work. Our clothes usually have a bit of stone dust on them by the end of the shift. We spend our time moving these massive pieces around and showing people the different patterns and colors that come in. It’s a bit of a loud place because of the machinery and the trucks coming in and out. The traffic on Bannerghatta Road is usually a mess, so we’ve gotten used to the sound of horns. We don’t do much in terms of fancy advertising; people mostly find us because they saw the sign or heard about us from someone else. It’s a simple business of buying and selling stone. We help people pick out what they need for their floors or counters. It’s not always easy work, especially when it’s hot out, but it’s what we do. Every piece of granite is a bit different, which keeps things interesting. We just stay focused on the inventory and making sure the deliveries happen when they are supposed to, more or less. It’s a practical, hands-on kind of life here and we just take each project as it comes without too much drama.
