Mahagujarat Silk Selection

We have been here at the Nobles Building on Ashram Road for quite a while now. Just across from Nehru Bridge, if you know the area. Most days involve unpacking new silk shipments or helping people find a specific color for a wedding. It gets busy, especially when the festivals start coming around. We do not have fancy displays, just stacks of fabric and people who know their silk. My father started things, and we have just kept it going. It is a lot of folding and unfolding all day. People come in looking for something specific, maybe a heavy saree or just a simple bit of silk for a suit. We try to keep a good variety so there is always something to look at. The traffic outside on Ashram Road is always loud, but inside it is just the sound of fabric moving and customers chatting. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a quick break. It isn't a huge place, but we manage to fit a lot in. We know most of the regulars by name. They have been coming to us for years, bringing their kids and then their grandkids. It is just how it goes here. We do not do much advertising; people just find us or hear about us from their neighbors. If you are walking near the bridge, you will see our sign. We are usually here from morning until the market slows down in the evening. Just a local silk shop doing our thing.
