Mahabir Tea Company

Mahabir Tea Company sits right inside the Court Gate here in Doshiwada. It’s a busy spot mostly because of the lawyers and people with court dates coming in and out all day long. We are right near the State Bank of India too, which means there’s always a crowd nearby. It isn't a fancy place. We’ve been here for a while now, just dealing with tea leaves in bulk and smaller packets. Most of the time, the floor is covered with dust from the road, and we spend half the morning just getting things sorted. The shop isn't big, but it’s full of bags. We get different types of tea from various places and keep them ready for anyone who stops by. Sometimes people just want a small bag to take home, and other times it's for the nearby tea stalls. It gets loud when the court is in session. We don't really have a big team or anything, just a few of us making sure the orders are right. The smell of raw tea leaves is quite strong when you walk in. It’s just how we do things here. We open up pretty early before the bank gets busy. It’s hard work, lifting the heavy sacks and measuring out the portions, but it keeps us going. There's no secret to it, just keeping the stock moving and talking to the regulars who have been coming to this part of Doshiwada for years.
