M. Square Engineering

Our workshop is at B-44 in the Pushpraj Industrial Estate. It’s on Anil Starch Road in Saraspur, right near the City Gold cinema. If you know Ahmedabad, you know this is an old industrial heart of the city. M. Square Engineering is basically about metal and machines. There is always the sound of something being cut or welded in the background. It’s a dusty, noisy place but that’s how an engineering shop should be. We’ve been in this estate for quite some time. The walls are a bit stained from oil and the floor is concrete, and it’s seen a lot of work over the years. We aren't the type to wear suits or sit in air-conditioned rooms all day. Most of us are down on the floor getting our hands dirty. Saraspur has a lot of history with mills and factories, and we feel like we are part of that tradition. The traffic on Anil Starch Road can be a nightmare during the lunch hour, but we just plan around it. We don't have a mission statement or a fancy philosophy. We just take the drawings, look at the metal, and make what needs to be made. It’s simple, honest work. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a job, and that’s just part of the deal. We know our neighbors in the estate and we help each other out when a machine breaks down or someone needs a hand.
