Lalit Tiles Factory

Lalit Tiles Factory is situated in Lalit Estate, right near Shree Ram Park. We are also quite close to Canal Road in the Thakkarbapa Nagar area. The factory stays quite warm because of the nature of making tiles. There is always a layer of fine red or grey dust on the windowsills and the desks in the corner office. We have been in this spot for a long time, and the neighbors near Shree Ram Park are used to the sounds of the machinery. Most mornings start with the sound of the gates opening and the workers arriving on their scooters. We don't have a polished front office. It is mostly just stacks of tiles everywhere you look. Some are ceramic, some are different materials, and they are piled up waiting for the next truck to pull in from Canal Road. The office is a small room with a couple of wooden chairs and a big calendar on the wall marked with delivery dates. Sometimes the traffic on the main road makes it hard for the bigger trucks to turn into the estate, so there is usually someone out there waving them in. It is a noisy, dusty, and very busy place to work. We don't spend much time worrying about how things look as long as the tiles are moving out on schedule. It is just honest work in a part of town that knows how to build things.
