Our place is right in the heart of the Manekchowk fruit market at shop 822/13. If you’ve ever been to this part of Ahmedabad, you know how crowded and lively it gets, especially early in the morning when the trucks start arriving. Kamalkumar Khemchand Makhija isn't a fancy brand name; it’s just the name on the shop where we handle our daily business. We deal with fruit, which means our days are dictated by the seasons and what’s coming in from the farms. It’s a lot of lifting, sorting, and talking to customers who’ve been coming to the market for years. The air always smells like whatever is in season, whether it’s mangoes or citrus. It’s a gritty, real environment with a lot of shouting and haggling going on around us. We don't have a polished office or a receptionist. You’ll mostly find us among the crates or checking the quality of the latest batch that just arrived. Manekchowk has its own energy, and we’ve been a part of it for a long time now. It’s hard work, and the hours are long, starting way before the sun comes up. We just try to get the best fruit out to the people who need it, whether they are buying for their families or for their own small stalls. It’s a straightforward business built on being here every day and knowing our trade. It's dusty and noisy, but it is what we do. We stay busy.
