Jiji Ki Idli

Jiji Ki Idli is a small food spot located at M-5/43/341-342 on the Shashtrinagar Main Road in Naranpura. We are right near Vardan Tower, so a lot of people stop by while they are out shopping or walking in the neighborhood. The name comes from what we make most—idlis. It’s a simple setup, more like a small shop than a big restaurant. We have a few benches and standing tables where people can eat. Most of our work happens behind the counter where we have the steamers going all morning. We start early because people like to get their breakfast before heading to the office. It gets quite crowded around 8 or 9 AM. We serve everything on simple plates with some chutney and sambar. We don't have a huge menu, just a few items that we know how to make well. The space is a bit tight sometimes, especially when there is a line, but everyone seems to manage. We focus on keeping the steamer lids tight and the counters wiped down. It’s a local Naranpura business through and through. The staff is just a couple of us who have been doing this for a while. We aren't trying to be fancy; we just want to get the food out to the neighbors and keep things running smoothly every day.
