Jessica Decorators

Jessica Decorators is based at 35 Krishna Nagar Society on Gurukul Road. We are right there between Subhash Chowk and Swami Vivekanand Chowk in Memnagar. This part of Ahmedabad is where we do most of our work. We started out small, just helping out people we knew, and it grew into a full-time thing. Most of our day is spent handling a lot of stuff—flowers, fabrics, lights, and all the frames that go with them. It’s not a clean office job; we are usually out on-site getting our hands dirty and moving heavy things around. Our storage space in the society is usually packed with equipment that needs to be sorted after every job. Being in 380052, we are central enough to get to most parts of the city pretty quickly. We don’t have a fancy corporate structure. It’s just us and a few helpers who know how to tie a knot or set up a stage without it falling over. During the festival season or when there are a lot of weddings, we barely see our own homes. We just move from one site to the next, making sure things look the way they’re supposed to. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just take the materials we have and set them up where people want them. It’s tiring and the hours are irregular, but that’s the life of a decorator in a busy city like this. We just keep working until the job is done.
