Being right opposite the Kalupur Railway Station in Ahmedabad means we see a lot of people. Reid Road is one of those places that never really sleeps. You have travelers coming off the trains at all hours, looking for a place to sit and have a proper meal. Our dining hall is quite large because we need to fit everyone in during the busy times. It’s not quiet here. You hear the station announcements sometimes and the constant honking of rickshaws outside. The staff is always moving, carrying plates and clearing tables as fast as they can. We serve a lot of thalis because it’s easier for people who are tired and just want a full meal without thinking too much. The floor is tiled and easy to clean, which is good because so many people walk through every day with their luggage. We’ve seen all sorts of people pass through these doors, from families on vacation to businessmen who are just in town for a few hours. It’s a busy life running a restaurant in Kalupur. You don't get much downtime, but it’s interesting to be right in the heart of the city near the station. We just keep things simple and make sure the food is hot and ready for whoever walks in. It’s been this way for a long time, and we just keep going with the flow.
