Jay Dwarkadhish Dinning Hall

Our dining hall is found at Shop No 2 in the Arsi Corner Shopping Center in Ellis Bridge, Ahmedabad. We are situated directly opposite Gujarat College, which means we see a lot of students and staff members coming in for their meals every day. It is a very busy part of the city to be in. We mostly serve thalis and regular daily meals for people who want something that tastes like home. The dining hall is on the ground floor and is not very big, but we have managed to fit enough tables to handle the lunch and dinner rush. We start our work early in the morning by chopping vegetables and preparing the dough for rotis. Dealing with the college crowd means we have to be quick because everyone is usually in a hurry to get back to their classes. We have been at this location for a good while and have watched the street outside change quite a bit over the years. The noise from the traffic on the bridge is always there, but we have gotten used to it. We do not put much effort into fancy decorations; we just keep the place clean and make sure the food is fresh. It is a practical business for us, just showing up and making sure the pots are full. If you are near the college and need a proper meal, we are right there across the street.
