Jaman Dining Hall

Jaman Dining Hall is located in the Yashniketan Complex, right opposite the Municipal Bal Bhavan in Khokhra. This is a working-class neighborhood in Ahmedabad, zip code 380008. We have been here for quite some time, serving lunch and dinner to people who live and work nearby. It’s a traditional dining hall, which means we focus on hearty meals that fill you up. The tables are arranged simply, and it can get very crowded during the afternoon rush. We don't have a fancy menu with a hundred different things. We stick to what we know how to cook well. The kitchen is always moving, with big pots of dal and vegetables being prepared every morning. Our staff is quick because they have to be when there’s a line of hungry people outside. It’s not a place where you come for a long, romantic evening. It’s a place where you come to eat good food and then get back to your day. The floor is tiled, the fans are always spinning, and there’s a lot of clinking of metal plates. We keep things clean and the food hot. That is about it. We are a local business through and through, serving the Khokhra community every single day except for holidays. There are no secrets here, just a lot of cooking and a lot of eating. We just try to make sure every person leaves with a full stomach and a nod of thanks.
