Gwalia Restaurant & Banquet

You’ll find us up on the first floor of the City Gold building on Ashram Road. It’s a busy part of Ahmedabad, so there’s always something going on outside. We have the restaurant side and then the banquet area for when people have bigger groups or small functions. It’s not a huge, sprawling place, but it works for what we do. The elevator can be a bit slow sometimes, so a lot of people just take the stairs up. We spend a lot of time getting things ready before the doors open. Setting up tables, checking the kitchen supplies, that kind of stuff. It’s a lot of work running both a restaurant and a banquet space, but we manage. Some days are quieter than others, especially in the afternoons when the sun is really hitting the windows. We try to keep the place cool for everyone. Gwalia has been here for a bit, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. We aren't doing anything too flashy. We just cook and make sure the hall is ready if someone booked it for a lunch. The staff mostly lives nearby, so we all know the area well. It gets noisy when there's a lot of traffic on Ashram Road, but once you're inside, it’s alright. We just focus on the daily tasks and try to do a decent job every day.
