Gupta Tea Centre

Gupta Tea Centre is located at No. 303 in the J. P. Complex, which is right across from C N Vidhyalaya in the Amaraivadi area. It is a pretty lively spot because of the school being right there. You see parents waiting around and kids running by all the time, which keeps things interesting. Our space inside the complex is simple and functional. We have our shelves lined with different tea varieties and we spend most of our day sorting through things or weighing out portions. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the front of the building, but we have a small desk where we handle the accounts and talk to visitors. We aren't trying to be some big fancy showroom. This is just a local business where we know our customers by their first names. Sometimes the hallway outside gets a bit noisy with people going to the other offices in the complex, but we don't mind much. We just focus on what we are doing with the tea. Usually, there is a stray cat that hangs around the entrance expecting a bit of food. We’ve been in Amaraivadi for a while now, and we like the routine of opening up every morning and seeing the familiar faces of the neighborhood. It is a straightforward way of living and working, without any of those big city complications or high-pressure sales talk.
