Dilip Cement Depot

We are set up at Amardeep Estate, which is right on Narol Road, part of the NH 8 highway. If you see the Evergreen Hotel, we are right nearby at unit number three. It’s a very industrial part of Narol, so there’s a lot of dust and heavy trucks rumbling past at all hours. Dilip Cement Depot is basically a warehouse where we keep our stock. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and the floors are always covered in a thin layer of grey powder. We don't mind it much, it’s just part of the work. Most of our day is spent checking the manifests and making sure the right number of bags get onto the right trucks. We have a small corner with a table and a couple of stools where we sit for lunch. It gets quite loud with the highway traffic so close, so you have to talk a bit louder than usual when you’re here. We’ve been operating out of this estate for several years. It's a simple setup without any bells or whistles. We focus on getting the cement out to the builders when they need it. The weather can be tough, especially when it rains and we have to make sure everything stays dry under the roof. We just put our heads down and get through the list of deliveries for the day. It’s a busy, gritty job but it’s what we’ve done for a long time now.
