Dadi Dining Hall

Dadi Dining Hall is located over in Paldi, right at Iskcon Square on Pritamnagar Road. We are directly opposite the Kothawala Flats, so a lot of our neighbors are our regular customers. Ahmedabad is a place where people really appreciate a good sit-down meal, and that is what we provide here. It is a dining hall, which means it’s meant for eating, not for lingering around for hours. We have long tables and a kitchen that stays very busy. The area around Paldi is always moving, and we are right in the middle of it. We see families coming in on the weekends and office workers during the week. The building itself is older, and we haven't changed much about the interior because it works just fine as it is. We start the day by getting the vegetables fresh from the market and getting the stove lit. There is a lot of chopping and stirring involved before we even open the doors. It can get quite loud inside when every chair is taken and everyone is talking at once, but we like that sound. It means the place is full of life. We don't use any fancy machines; most of the work is done by hand, just like it’s always been done here. We just want to make sure everyone gets fed and goes back to their day. It is a lot of hard work but it is worth it.
